While on Christmas leave I saw a
Discovery channel documentary on a
geared mechanism found in a shipwreck
from the Hellenic period (Alexander to
the Fall of Syracuse). The documentary
was viewed casually during Yule socializing,
so i did not copy the name of the geared
calculating device. It was originally
contained in a wooden box and it was
transportable to any of the Greek colonies
to be used for calculating Greek religious
(astrological) dates and events. The docudrama's
conclusion was that every Greek colony in the
Med had a water clock as well as one of these
mechanical calculators. What is the name of this
calculator for search purposes ?

Yes ! That's the artifact.
All of the gears in it had triangular
teeth, and its calculations were based
on the lunar calendar.
