Hi!
I'm looking for the answer to the following question:
In the ancient wars, some men had to "raise the war-cry", at the beginning
of the battle.
How can we call these men?
Someone suggested "herauts", but I don't thing it's good.

Heralds.

    Looks like heraut is the origin of herald or closely related to it.

I don't believe the question may be understood when it is translated
from French to English !
See the answer I gave you in fr.sci.archaeology. Did you find anything
wrong with it ?..
