When did these 2 cultures exist?

I'm under the impression that the Greek civilization existed from
~1000 BC to ~0 AD.

Roman civilization existed from ~0 AD to ~450 AD.

The 2 became consolidated from ~450 AD to ~1453 AD.

What marks the beginning of each civilization and the ends of each?

Make your own mind up after reading this.

We normally start the birth of the Rome with the overthrow of the
Tarquin dynasty, about 500 BCE

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Most historians feel that the Roman empire ended in 1453 CE.

A historian view nothing else.

I am currently studying Greek Civ, and the general concensus is that:

Greek Civ started around 2000 BCE with the Minoans and continued through the
Mycenaeans till 1200BCE when the Greek Dark Ages started (as a result of the
Mycenaean Civ Collapse). This was followed by the Archaic Age around 800
BCE, then the Classical Age (what most people think of as Greek Civ.)
started around 500BCE and lasted till the end of the Roman Empire.

These dates are rounded off from the dates listed in the back of "Egypt,
Greece and Rome: Civilizations of the Ancient Mediterranean" by Charles

You missed out the decent of the Heraklids/Dorian invasion of the
Peloponnese who succeeded the Mycenaeans/Achaeans in 1100 BC and then the
Ionian migration in 1050 BC which were the reasons for the decline which
began with the first attempt by the Dorians to conquer Mycenae in 1150 BC.
Then there was Hesiod, Homer and Lycurgus in 880 BC who brought about the
renascence in culture.

The classical period ended in 338 BC when Phillip conquered Athens and then
began the Hellenistic Age which lasted until the death of Cleopatra.
