What is the point of this group? The topic is covered by
sci.anthropology and sci.anthropology.paleo.
Have you an agenda or are you having fun?
Cormac.

Yeah, well, when I read your comment, I felt like the idiot who
thought the library was a nice quiet place to tune his guitar
I was never any good at history and used to memorise just enough of
the stuff to get a pass mark. Anyway, the notion of 'life before eden'
might seem offensive to some, even a contradiction. I don't even know
the definition of 'history' - its parameters being the written
record? I felt like getting out, making as little noise as I could.
Then I double checked. I ran a search, soc.history.ancient, of the
terms I had used and got the following hits:
Chimpanzee 63
Bonobo 8
Neanderthal 403
Homo Sapiens 452
My question was not out of place.
My agenda is to create a web site with two discussion groups. One of
the discussion groups being open and the other closed. The closed
group will form an editorial board for the website. My contribution to
the web site will be on the conceptual models of pre-history.
The web site and discussion groups have already been set up.
It is a voyage of discovery and a sense of adventure and fun is
probably essential.
Thank you for taking the time to comment on my post.

I quote from your comment:

sci.anthropology and sci.anthropology.paleo.
It is a new perspective on the past which might include many old and
new envelopes of knowledge. Remain in a state of funk so, Cormac. I
could have done with your tidy mind on this voyage.

Just for the record, I had a look at sci.anthropology and
sci.anthropology.paleo and found a whole new world of information.
Thank you and please excuse my impatience.
