Dr. Barbara Thiering is omitted because she is generally regarded as a
fringe theorist.

Thompson Gale - Biography Resource Center

"High school modern language teacher, 1953-61"

I leave it as an exercise for interested ngers to find out what
languages she learned
on the road to understanding the DSS better than the 5 men scholars
listed above.

Those ngers who get curious may then ask me what are the specific
clashes or differences
she had with each.

Bottom line -

Dr. Thiering is no longer fringe, but instead, right on target
concerning specifically a dating scheme
for when the DSS were written etc.

IMHO understanding the DSS is indispensable for archaeologists to
interpret the Qumran site.

Where it gets extremely controversial and polemical is when her ideas
of Christian Origins are
discussed or debated.  Yet, IMHO she has never been refuted on ANY
aspect of Christian Origins,
DSS textual analysis, or Qumran archaeology by any competent scholar.

Why do you say that?  The subject has nothing to do with my
personality or yours.

It has to do with an injustice done by the scholarly community at
large to her scholarly work.

Frank Cross
Geza Vermes
Lawrence Schiffman
James Charlesworth
James VanderKam

IOW, VanderKam never studied Thiering pesher, never studied Thiering
calendar, but was
disrespectful in his 2002 book with Flint.

I could go on...  Suffice it to say, Dr. Thiering has the least
difference with Cross.

Bottom line -

Dr. Thiering is leading a paradigm shift.

To call Thering a "fringe scholar" is to complement her.
She is a nutcase,
Just as you are.

There is no shift.
You are still her only fanboi.

What are your credentials?

Do you know anything at all about Thiering's take on Essene Solar
Calendar?

I could go on but am presently more interested in Youtube wrestling
videos -

I can't believe Lyger lost!

No need to know Thiering to know what you are.
Go preaching elsewhere, dickhead.

You the skeptic above all other people should know to judge the
evidence
on the merits.

Forget about the inadequate Wikipedia article author who failed to
think for
himself.  Be a cut above by investigating the substance of what Dr.
Thiering
says.

Note I advise not getting bogged down with her differences with the 5
scholars
listed above.

Go straight for the throat - wrestling tactic.  Thus, Essene solar
calendar.  What
does she say?  Study in close detail her Calendar article on her
Pesher of Christ
website and then give sci.arch your feedback.

That's right, I want you to be interactive for a change and stop
sniping.  Expose
your thoughts so that others can mix it up to come to the truth about
the Essene connection to Christian Origins and to Qumran.

While you are at it, mix in a little archaeology.

Archaeology cannot address delusions.
Delusions exist independent of the real world.

Your polemics greatly detract from conversational value on the NG.
