Zahi Hawass claims that the mummy found by Howard Carter in 1903 in Tomb
KV60 is that of Hatshepsut.

"'Find of century' for Egyptology

The mummy was discovered by Howard Carter in 1903

Egyptologists say they have identified the 3,000-year-old mummy of
Hatshepsut, Egypt's most powerful female ruler.

Egypt's antiquities chief Zahi Hawass made the official announcement at
a packed news conference in Cairo.

It is being billed as the biggest archaeological find in Egypt since the
1922 discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb.

Archaeologists hope the mummy, which has lain unrecognised for decades,
will yield clues about the mystery of her death and subsequent
disappearance.

Mr Hawass has set up a DNA lab near the museum with an international
team of scientists to verify the identification.

The study was funded by the US television channel Discovery which is to
broadcast a documentary on the subject in July.

An important piece of the evidence is said to be that the mummy has a
missing tooth, and the gap matches exactly an existing relic, a
preserved tooth engraved with Hatshepsut's name. "

According to the news, she was diabetic, and died of cancer.

Zahi Hawass's account of the identification process, and a description
of the tombs.

Many Thanks for the link.
But I'm affraid that the way Dr Zahi Hawass has done the job will
raise doubts and controversy.  For instance, he "justifies" that all
the DNA search has been done SOLELY by an Egyptian Laboratory (No
European or American scholar admitted) because a Laboratory in St
Louis find that a mummy was European, adding that it was because "you
can have a 40% rate of error due to contamination". And what about a
contamination, in an Egyptian Laboratoty, by other mummies ??? On the
other hand the Dr Hawass' desire to be the one who made a "BIG
DISCOVERY" in egyptology, his will to work alone with only HIS team,
are such that one may suspect some bias in the conclusions of the
study...

As well as his treatment of Joanne Fletcher, who made a similar
identification a couple of years back. Her great crime was that she didn't
give the great Zahi enough publicity.
