THE AUSTRALIAN http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,22474943-38940,00.html Louise Evans | September 25, 2007
DURING the past 30 years an otherwise smart and urbane colleague has poured about $22,000 of his hard-earned wages down the drain.
He insists it was worth every drop.
His addiction is bottled water. Every day he has to have a fix, and being a connoisseur he goes out of his way to find exotic brands of a product that takes up more room in the supermarket than bread and milk.
Nothing can cure him of this addiction, not a tally of the money he's wasting, studies showing public water is safe, knowledge of the landfill he's creating or multinationals confessing their fancy bottled water is just tapwater.
He isn't doing it for his health, even though alleged medical experts who infest morning television and daytime radio claim drinking eight glasses of water a day cures cancer and increases your libido.
It isn't the taste, either, as on occasion he'd poured "freshly squeezed water" from The Philippines down the drain, without it going via his kidneys, because it tasted like turps.
§Huge SNIP of clueless rubbish§
The tap v bottle debate is not about water but oil, and the number of barrels used in making the plastic bottles, and transporting and refrigerating the product. Yet environment-conscious consumers obsessed with water restrictions, dam levels and the drought happily lecture about climate change while swigging from a chilled bottle of Evian. Some people are getting it. During the northern hemisphere summer, San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom banned city departments from buying bottled water, saying his city's water was pristine. Salt Lake City issued a similar decree and New York City launched an advertising campaign saying its water was clean, zero sugar and even stain-free. Go figure. They forgot to add fat-free.
§Huge SNIP of still clueless rubbish§
The message is filtering through to Australia, too. At one of those overrated, over-priced, over-booked Sydney restaurants that has been awarded a chef's hat for excellence, the waitress started the night by asking if we wanted "bottled or tap water". Usually the question is "still or sparkling".
Apart from the wine, the tap water was the best thing she served all night.

Comments :
Don't touch Tap water even for cooking, this is the main Cancer vector in the whole world now ! I spent a fortnight of holidays where I go at least half a dozen time a year either for hiking or field work, preparing my highly expected work on the TRUE GEOLOGY. I brought back with me 700 l of the purest water emerging at some 1 100 m, and resulting from the upraise of pristine water transformed as such by the Alchemical transformation of heavier elements at some 400 km of depth ... and this is origin of all water & oil as that Universilities Fools of Curtin, Monash & the ANU are unable to understand !!!
Anyway that pristine water cost me nothing and never would I dream of touching that cancer tap water .... which indeed has all the physical characteristics of a cancerous blood ( Ph, rH2 & resistiivity )
Those who like poor clueless Louise are promoting the tap water sh.t are supporting in actual fact the Dizeaze Industry & its associated parasites of the Drug Industry. Cancer as all degenerative dizeazes which that stupid brainwashed Humanity accept as fatality are all dirt cheap to cure and especially prevent ... even Diabetes, Alzheimer, Parkinson, can be cured in a few weeks and Cancer especially brain tumour in a few days ... and this with leaving aside those Medic Vermines. Of course I am not in position to share such findings since it would result in utter degenerate antipodean criminals benefiting from my research and finding as well as their own.... as is well documented nothing can be expected from such australian manure in term of gratitude & recognition indeed ... so let's things remain as they and it would certainly break my heart to learn that some of that australian political filth or some of those Mining / Financial Criminals have taken advantage again of some new discoveries
We are indeed going to celebrate on the 14th of October 2007 the 37 th year of australia Collective Crimes ... a full generation Collective Crimes

AUSTRALIA'S WINE INDUSTRY RAVAGED BY DROUGHT

The price of Australian wine is predicted to soar as the country's crippling drought threatens to halve next year's grape harvest.
Telegraph food and drink The worst drought in more than a century is threatening to put hundreds of grape growers out of business and to force the ripping out of vineyards across the country.
The most dramatic falls in production is likely to be in the Murray- Darling basin There are fears that Australia's reputation as an exporter of good quality, reasonably priced wines could be jeopardised, with the shortage of grapes translating to price rises on the shelves of British supermarkets and off-licenses.

This is copy of an article sent to a paper as reader comment !
Sirs,
I am afraid those people have only themselves to blame for their predicament + of course the crass ignorance of their own leaders. None indeed in that article nor in related articles about the drought is referring to abominable agricultural malpractice of those people over the 100 years since Australia was settled : This is the Ringbarking through whole forests of native trees holding the soil and indeed generating by capillarity some stability of rain pattern have been systematically eradicated. As holder of a commercial pilot licence which I used only on personal voyages I have flown over millions of acres of Australia land, where the poor dying or already dead trees where holding their arms toward heaven in a mute prayer of despair ... I sincerely at times had tears in my eyes contemplating such willing massacre ... as the one of the Kangaroos being culled by 1 000 at the time + wild camels & wild horses having suffered from determined genocide in the past
That land of Australia has been mismanaged and I will tell you why too : Through Greed and overgrazing + overpumping the water table resources... then as a consequence leading to the depletion of the arable land dying for fault of moisture rising to its level from the more and more deeper underground water !!! Now all those people are whining and moaning but none to my knowledge is saying : Sorry ! Our Land is dying because of our bad husbandry of God's Gift which as fools we used until the parched field and the dead paddocks can produce no more !
Thank you for reading my mail and it pains me indeed to see such a beautiful country at one time run to ground by people who believe that agricultural land should have return and have no feeling nor love in their dry heart for the vegetal nor the animal kingdom. The dryness of their heart as said is reflecting now in the scenery and going soon to impact as well the geography ...ref sea rise !
Yours faithfully

Actually the drought is good for Australia, since it is shutting down certain agricultural practices which were bad for the land anyway (like cotton and rice irrigation etc).
Now we just have to shut down mining and reduce the population back to 1970s levels and the place will be perfect.

FARMERS PAID TO QUIT Email Print Normal font Large font Phillip Coorey and Stephanie Peatling September 26, 2007
THE plight of drought-ravaged farmers has become so dire that the Federal Government will pay the most severely affected $150,000 each to walk off their land and another $20,000 for retraining and the cost of moving.
The "exit with dignity" and relocation grants will be available to up to 1000 farmers at a cost of $170 million. etc

... In April, Mr Howard urged the nation to pray for rain as he warned there would be no more water for irrigators in the basin after July 1 unless the heavens opened. He repeated his call to prayer yesterday and branded as "pathetic" suggestions the latest round of funding was motivated by the impending election. etc

... but what the SMH does not say is the reason why Howard is FORCED to take such measures, hey ? This is the scandal of nearly ONE THOUSAND FARMERS having been murdered in cold blood by the Banking Vultures since beginning of 2006 ! ... and their dear ones are faring now with debts to repay to the tune of millions ... any word about that in that SMH Rag ?

It could be one of many food retailers, there's Coles, Aldi, IGA, Woolies, BI-Lo and others as well. There are still lots of corner store outfits as well. Vegetables can be obtained from supermarkets and green grocers and farmers markets or preferably one's own garden.
As for the supermarkets, they will source food from overseas markets to replace lost local production, there will probably be price movements but no interruption to supply to the market.

Nevertheless, the truth of the matter is that we can just as easily be fed with food produced somewhere else.
Reduced rain in the wheatbelt is unfortunate and the farmers there should be covered by government handouts for the forseeable short term, or the govco should enforce a moratorium on their debts.
As for cotton and rice production, there is no good reason why it should continue.
The fact remains too that farming practices here are responsible for much of the environmental degradation - indiscriminate land clearing, erosion, introduction of weeds etc etc.

Indeed, the man does not know that you cannot stop & run an agricultural property & just like trees & all living things have to be care for, it takes a great care spread over many years to perfect that most complex producing tool which is a farm !!! ... in Groenturd 's mind who has never seeded in his life the least tomatoes or carrots etc there is no relation at all between such marvels of Nature perfection and the land which support it as well with the people who grow it.
In the mind of such dull County people insulting sh.t, the Coles manager does it all & then it's fit that such middle man should run in BMW, while the hard working farmers go round in rusted 20 years old Holden Ute
The drama however is the case of Groenturd is not unique, and in Mining & Political circles we find the same type of most Heinous Villains we take it for granted that Mines are found on a one way & quick grazing flight over the Great Sandy Desert ...

Incredible post from Groenturd clearly indicating the man has the moral standards of a maggot & the intellectual turn of mind of some well documented parasites !
Indeed, the man does not know that you cannot stop & run an agricultural property & just like trees & all living things have to be cared for, it takes a great solicitude spread over many years to perfect that most complex producing tool which is a farm !!! ... in Groenturd 's mind who has never seeded in his life the least tomatoes or carrots etc there is no relation at all between such marvels of Nature perfection and the land which supports it, as well as with the people who grow it.
In the mind of such dull County people insulting sh.t, the Coles manager does it all & then it's fit that such middle man should run in BMW, while the hard working farmers go round in rusted 20 years old Holden Utes
The drama however is the case of Groenturd is not unique, and in Mining & Political circles we find the same type of most Heinous Villains who takes it for granted that Mines are found on a one way & quick grazing flight over the Great Sandy Desert ...

Congratulations my friend, you have really hit the nail on the head ! That Gro?turd does not care at all about Australia or any part of world his kind lives in ... and he has most probably one these parasitic jobs out of which no richness is produce for the community ! ... further Gro?turd has probably as well shares in Mining Criminals ' ventures ... it does not matter for that type of Eduardly Turd, only the return on investment either from Drugs industry, Dizeaze & heavy metals pushing vaccinal Industy, War industry etc does matter indeed
The positive side is however that such definitive Groenstein manure is falling prey to those very dizeazez known as civilisation or modern dizeazez ... even to AIDS, the easiest of them all to cure in my knowledge ... Thanks for that to the Blessed One, my Beloved Almighty Pagan God
Congratulations for your stand Graham !

gb6724@yahoo.com - 25 Sep 2007 22:06 GMT Australians are currently fascist federalists having blamed a few and siezed land of the aborigins. Wake up, you are right, Australia is not Europe. Racist genocide is part of the culture since 1900.
I am right on similar things about Republicans. Chronic federalism and tarnishing freak big brother creates madness. 80-90 percent of Arabs think negatively of Americans today, compromising safety with racism is corruption. Yes, USA and Australia is corrupt today, and the UK is mad with police cameras in the street. Why the three English countries?
Gib bogernment powder, God save the Queen and the constitution, imperialism is still on. Fascists in powder, blacker than ever, reloading and shooting everywhere. They don't even know what's going on. Long socks and pride, I'll kick their balls.
