For Doug Reese:

Do you know Pham Quang Khai?

Interesting Man -- he lives in Virginia, Virginia Beach as I recall -- or
that vicinity.

No, I don't. Who is he?

When I'm back in the states, I'm in northern VA -- Annandale (near
Fairfax, Falls Church, etc), specifically . . . however, I'm a Hoosier!

I may get down to Virginia Beach once a year . . . for the beach.

Now that I'm more awake . . . . . I Googled him, but couldn't find
much. I believe he is a writer/poet, but that's all I could see.

Hmmmmmm...

There used to be a website that mentioned him but I can't seem to find it.

Perhaps I'm spelling his name incorrectly.

The man I knew was a prominent businessman with whom I worked closely.

He lived in Saigon, on Yen Do street, as I recall -- 29 Yen Do.

I heard he was sent to a Re-Education Camp [if that is the proper
terminology] after the Communists took over -- then made his way to Hong
Kong and later came to the United States.  I'm very glad he survived and got
to America.

Is the _La Cigalle_ restaurant still there?  I used to love that place.  It
was run by a Corsican.

Excellent French, Vietnamese and some Chinese food.

OK, many Vietnamese have the same name. Only one popped up when I
entered that name and "Virginia". Oh well . . . . .

I'll have to check out that address on Yen Do. I may be busy the next
couple of weeks, but will try sooner or later. . . . let me get this
straight, you may have spelled his name wrong, but you remember his
address :)

I don't think that restaurant is here anymore, but I think there's
another one here by that same name.

In keeping with my duties as the guide to the possible in Washington DC
area may I suggest Tyler Cowan's ethnic dining guide?

La Cigalle, the restaurant, was not far from the race track, as I recall.
