The Times uses Times Europa which was designed in 1972 by Walter Tracy
for The Times of London. Times Europa was a replacement for Times New
Roman, which had been designed for the newspaper in 1931. Times Europa
was designed with sturdier shapes to meet the postwar demands of
newspaper printing, i.e, the cheaper paper and increased speed of the
presses.

Interesting.

Thank you.

Anyone know about _The Grauniad_ [Guardian], _The Telegraph_, _The
Scotsman_, _The Sun_ and _The Daily Mail_?

Which are the primary fonts they use for the news?

The Guardian format switch was accompanied by a comprehensive redesign
of the paper's look. On Friday 9 September 2005 the newspaper unveiled
its new look front page, which débuted on Monday 12 September 2005.
Designed by Mark Porter, the new look includes a new masthead for the
newspaper, its first since 1988. A typeface family called Guardian
Egyptian, designed by Paul Barnes (designer) and Christian Schwartz, was
created for the new design. No other typeface is used anywhere in the
paper - all stylistic variations are based on various forms of Guardian
Egyptian. -- source Wikipedia

I'm sure that if you asked them nicely they would print an edition in
big print for you - withoiut any words that had more than two
syllables

Why don't you ask someone intelligent in your family to read one of
the papers and tell you? - I suggest your dog.
