Only if the fairy story of MacDonald v's Campbell is given credit or
believed. It was a Government Militia massacring a small sept of Clan
MacDonald.
The greater parts of Clan MacDonald didn't come to their aid after the late
oath of loyalty - but the Argyll Campbell chief did call for leniency. The
Campbell who commanded the Militia was from the Perthshire branch who were
Jacobites in 1745.
