Cherie Booth, the wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, is
reportedly the 3rd great-granddaughter of Algernon Sidney Booth, who was the
uncle of John Wilkes Booth, the actor who shot and killed President Abraham
Lincoln.

Never trust an actor.

Trust but verify.

The current Queen of the UK, Queen Elizabeth II, is descended from the
grandfather of the First President of the USA, George Washington, as
am I.
Would it be appropriate for Queen Elizabeth to join the Sons of the
American Revolution? I think it would, given her ancestral linkage to
George Washington!
I am a member of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution;
the Somerset Chapter Magna Charta Barons; the Sovereign Colonial
Society  Americans of Royal Descent, the Colonial Order of the Crown,
the Plantagenet Society,  and the Descendants of the Most Noble Order
of the Garter.
I am a U.S. Army Vietnam Combat Veteran and an American citizen.

Show us the steps of the alleged descent.

Do you have a genealogical link which would show that Queen Elizabeth II, is
descended from the
grandfather (Lawrence Washington b. 1659 - d. 1698) of the First President
of the USA.  Burke's Peerage doesn't appear to mention it - it does indicate
however that GW is descended from Henry III.

I'd like evidence that the poster known as Marcus Aurelius is indeed the
late great emperor and stoic philosopher his own self.

Small world!  Hi cousin!

President George Washington and Queen Elizabeth II are reportedly 2nd
cousins, 7 times removed.

The descent is reportedly from Colonel Augustine Warner, Jr. [1642-1681] and
his wife Mildred Reade, who died about 1694, to the Queen Mother and then on
to Queen Elizabeth II.

The Warners are reportedly the 8th Great-Grandparents of Queen Elizabeth II
and the Great-Grandparents of President Washington.

So it's Washington's GREAT Grandfather and Grandmother Warner who are
allegedly the ancestors of the Queen -- NOT the Grandparents.
