I think you are fishing for commentary
on Japan.  Japan is caught between
Godzilla (The U.S.) and Mothra (China).
The Japanese are looking at a régime
that rolls over a $500 billion debt to
fight a 10 year war and wonders, "Why
can't we do the same thing for Nippon?"

Godzilla is now broke and indebted for
the next 50 years.  Mothra is firing on
all cylinders but has a poisoned, sick
environment  that will take 50 years to
clean up.  But I think Japan is going to
build a space rail that will run from
geosynchronous orbital altitude to a
typhoon-free spot in the Pacific.  I think
that Japan has the ability and the national
strength to rule space. Ground
based space travel is economically dead.
I think the Nipponese will beg,
borrow and steal enough to build a factory
at 22,000 miles above the Pacific.  Of course
the nanocarbon rail
may snap from gravity versus centripetal
force.  This is when Plan B ("moonbase")
goes into effect. The Nips have to do this
because they are the only ones with a
metalloid 10 times stronger than steel.

US bought Alaska from Russia for 1 US$. It is a better for Japan to set
up a deal with US to buy Alaska rather than going up in space.

I don't like Alaska, I don't want to move to Alaska. It's too cold and I
don't want to eat a seal.

Yes, it would probably be too cold for "colored" people like you.

Inuits living in Alaska are coloreds, though.

Some do, some don't; some have one blue eye and one brown eye.

...And, in their dreams, they're malamutes.

Ohmigod, the youth of Japan are worried that space
will be as cold as Alaska.  Where is the courage that
beat us Americans so badly at Pearl ?  The only way
the Japanese can go is UP. If they go east, they meet
Godzilla.  If they go west, they run smack into Mothra
or Megalon.  A Nippon Space platform is a way to
escape the "superpowers."

That's OK, the seal probably doesn't want to eat you, either.
