You can also see snippet of what went on during that campaign in 1966
film Khartoum. Olivier's acting is unbelievable.

Olivier is The Mahdi isn't he?  The only scene I can remember
is Olivier cringeing when he sees Gordon's head on a pole.  I
think my dad took me to see it.  My mother would demand he take
me out to see a film/movie so he'd take me to see THE CHARGE OF
THE LIGHT BRIGADE, BATTLE OF THE BULGE and BATTLE OF BRITAIN.
