New English word: to Darfurize

I just made up a new word for our language, "Darfurize." It means: when
a certain tribe or religious group tries to push another tribe or group
out of their homeland and into a deadly place like a desert (on in the
case of the Israelis, into the Mediterranean Sea).  The whole world now
has too many people for the available land (especially land with clean
water supplies), so this is happening (even between Sunni and Shiite
groups in Iraq).

More about this is in my article published in an e-zine at:
http://www.useless-knowledge.com/1234/06aug/article131.html .

Good article.

I've been harping about Darfur too.

Here is a  related recent thread at <alt.environment>& <alt.philosphy>
where I got two cents into it.

A solution is indeed to irrigate the desert with ocean water.

Plus, as the glaciers melt,  the coasts of the world are going to need
relief, and what better way than to use the ocean water to improve
deserts.

And it's slightly smarter  than taking an SUV gas-guzzling trip to see
the sights of nature.

I think Robt. Cohen's posts are interesting.  And it's a good article
in The Nation, that he links to.

Here is another one via THE NATION that has a nuance/spin/slanting that
further explains/confuses the phenomena.
