Chinese History: The Mao Era

My comment: The younger Americans here could not imagine the
U.S.--China cold war era from the end of WW II until beyond Nixon's
visit:

It was not pleasant here in the U.S. to think about the Korean War and
the Vietnam War in which both the USSR and China had key villainous
supporting roles.

The idea/image/reality of China as the capitalistic power it now has
become in so short of a time is AMAZING, and if you disagree, please
let me know your rationale.

One cannot exaggerate the radical changes that China has made.

"They" said back then it was potentially "five Japans," and "they"
weren't wrong.

This article contains some purported facts (100 million
deaths/executions) that will forever be unconfirmed & disputed, I
suppose.
