There is no one who in the universe would believe this tripe. ----------snip--------- Thanks for bringing up this issue, I've been thinking about Dr. King on and off for the last couple days. I spent part of 1965 and 1966 in Mississippi and am still appalled by the treatment of blacks, then and now. Obviously you and I are on opposing sides of the issue, I'll give my reasons and see if you can substantiate yours. Dr. King was a man with all attendant baggage that brings. What has become clear is that he was a man of incredible courage. That courage must be respected whether you agree or disagree with his position on racial issues. Even a redneck bigot should honor a man challanging the predominant opinion in the face of death threats by armed mobs. Instead of fighting physically Dr. King used ideas and morality as his weapon. He faced guns, clubs, attack dogs, water hoses, imprisonment, beatings, his followers were beaten, raped, disappeared, killed, and mutilated. They won because their cause was right. Right trumps force but at enormous price.
