It rather amazes me that so many Republican Party leaders who had no trouble
stomaching years and years of corruption and insider deals and scandals
under George Ryan were now lining up to throw stones at Jack (no relation to
George Ryan).
This is one of my real problems with modern American Republicans. They have
no trouble accepting corruption in office, but go ballistic over personal
issues.
You'd think that the ex-husband of Jeri Ryan (7 of 11 on Star Trek and a
very lovely woman - It's a shame that she is a Republican.) and also
carrying the name of Tom Clancy's hero would have a shoo-in to election. Not
to mention his personal story of making a mint as a stock broker, quitting,
and going to teach High School. This is at worst a very minor sex-related
scandal.
People who would make such a decision (rejecting Ryan) should not be allowed
to run governments. They have no judgment regarding what is really important
the rest of us who are governed. Their priorities are screwed up.

You've gotem all wrong Roger. They have no trouble accepting corruption
or any other kind of wrong doing as long as the public does not find
out about it but then they become the most righteous sons of bitches on
earth. Family Values you know.

I think that he's the shoo-in for "Most Pathetic Male, 2004". I mean, where
do you go *after* you've been married to Jeri Ryan? And then not having the
good sense to be a Democrat -- they seem to have little problem with
sexually, er, reckless members (see, inter alia, Bill Clinton, Barney Frank,
Ted Kennedy, etc). It just seems unfair that one should lose Jeri Ryan *and*
have to abandon his political ambitions...
