You know, there is a Great Deal of Truth in what you say below.
I interact regularly with very bright young folks from Ivy League
colleges who are trying to make career decisions.
They tell me that invariably the Best and Brightest among them with a

Having just watched 'The Last Dragon' on TV, I am once again curious to know
what the origin of this creature really is. They certainly seem to appear, in
various forms, in the legends and mythology of almost every civilisation that
has ever existed on the planet.

With any luck the world can sit back and watch the show when the Iranian Mad
Mullahs and the Israeli Zionist Fanatics start lobbing nuclear missiles at
one another in the very near future.

So how do cross bows work anyhow?29 Oct 2005 01:26 GMT16
I used to think that I understood how crossbows worked.  Then I visited
the Philadelphia Museum of Art and looked at a few examples from the
early 1500's.  And now I am wondering if I understand this device.
The four examples in the art museum looked reasonably standard,
Why I am obsessed with R328 Oct 2005 06:18 GMT4
Until stumbling across the tudorplace.org ws, I had always thought
Henry Tudor had fought on the battlefield that day. Instead I find that
he and a few others stood watching from a distance with a horse ready
if things went against him so he could flee. I care not for whether
Re: President Bush Makes Another Excellent Nomination To The Supreme Court27 Oct 2005 19:53 GMT5
Hilarious!
"Conservative" pogues and poguettes, full of righteous anger, are
running in tight little circles and chasing their tails over the
nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

The Comedy Team of Gans and Towe can't even get their act together.

Dead bodies and diseases as weapons...20 Oct 2005 22:51 GMT1
Hello..
I recall of hearing somewhere that on medieval age dead bodies where
thrown over the city walls to cause diseases. This as a weapon of war.
Is this true? Do you have any reference on the topic?
Speaking of Food - A medieval feast...20 Oct 2005 05:14 GMT59
I have just found out that my daughter has volunteered me to make some
items for a medieval feast at her school. Anyone have any idea what I
could make or where I might find a recipe?

A modern role for the Knights Templar?18 Oct 2005 21:36 GMT93
I've been taking a look at the Knights Templar orders around the world
but I am still not sure what their role is. Whatever the role of the
Knights in the past and whether or not they are correct in calling
themselves 'Knights' in the first place, what do they actually *do*?
Did they ever build uranium armor in the Middle Ages???18 Oct 2005 18:21 GMT6
