Several threads have drifted away from discussion of the American Civil

Why didn't Lincoln bring secession question befor the USSC?17 Aug 2006 13:24 GMT132
Were there judicial rules or constitutional issues that prevented the
Lincoln administration from getting the question of secession before
the Supreme Court prior to the firing on of Ft. Sumter or at any time
after Lincoln took office?  Who had the burden of getting a secession

Dear Members,
I have a question for all of you, have any of you ever ran across any information reguarding a unit called the 17th Wisconsin Vol. Inf.?  If so, by any chance do any of you know what their uniform looked like?  I am asking because, I am currently trying to put ...

Secession and the Confederate Constitution12 Aug 2006 11:12 GMT2
That argument has been made repeatedly - but I submit it is false.
The CS Constitution spends a lot of paperwork spelling out and
