Re: _Master And Commander_ ---- Russell Crowe13 Dec 2003 09:32 GMT3
"It's a $135 million art film," said Russell Crowe, who is winning
praise for his robust portrayal of Patrick O'Brian's seafaring hero, the
captain of H.M.S. Surprise, Jack Aubrey.  "I'm confident the audience
exists."
Who collected all the corpses from battlefields?12 Dec 2003 17:43 GMT2
I think there probably were professional corpse-thieves who stole to
corpses and sold their clothes, there armor, their weapons and the
meat of the corpses on the black market !
There must have been many cannibals around, since war always means
Questions about the massacre of Varus's Roman Legions09 Dec 2003 17:00 GMT2
In 9 A.D. three Roman legions (about 20,000 men) under a general
called Varus were annihilated by German warriors under Arminius ...
I have three questions:
1) Did any romans at all make it out ... or were all killed?
