Was he vasted for the US war effort when Roosevelt sent him to China?
I am not asking whether Roosevelt ought to know that when he sent him,
but whether Stillwell would have served better if given a combat post
in Pacific (likely in post later held by Eichelberger) or Europe

Anyone seen this footage before of a Kamikaze pilot that survived his
crash? It appears to be edited, but I am not sure. Anyone have
background info on this? The other videos are great, as well.

Anybody know the title of a PBS special that talked with some old WW2
surgeons that were in the Pacific and had lots of photos?  thanks!

Hello, Im trying to decipher my fathers discharge paperwork
and the Organization information is giving me a headache.
Dad was discharged in '46 after he had been in Japan with the
Occupation Forces in the Signal Corps.

Please confirm that you do mean the Pacific theatre and not the

I've seen some movies over the last couple years that have gotten me
thinking about lesser-known areas of conflict during WWII.
For example, the movie "To Have and Have Not" starring Humphrey Bogart and
Lauren Bacall is set in Martinique during the war. In the movie, gestapo
