| Major Battles in Italy | 30 Jan 2007 23:24 GMT | 2 |
This is an awkward question, because it cab be difficult to identify distinct "battles" in the continuous and extensive combats of WW II.

| Book recommendations--atomic history | 25 Jan 2007 10:15 GMT | 47 |
There have been several discussions about atomic history during the war. I'd like to recommend three books for that: 1) The main "bible" is "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes.

Question: Were hospital ships formally respected on the Eastern Front? I have read that the Soviet government gave notice in July 1941 that it would not recognize and respect German hospital ships according to the Hague Convention. If true, obviously this would have made Soviet

I'm part-way through the above-menti0ned novel, which so far is set in 1938/39 and I'm hugely curious about the level of its veracity. Dobbs makes all kinds of accusations and I'm wondering where fact ends and fiction begins. There's stuff about Robert Boothby screwing Harold
